Candidate Induction & Training

Candidates will be familiarised with the following:

  • Uniform policy and Dress code
  • Documentation and record keeping
  • Time management and  punctuality
  • Grievance procedures

Code of Good Practice;

  • Maintaining yearly mandatory training and professional skills
  • Identifying and minimising risk to self and others
  • Taking responsibility for own action and be accountable for own practice.
  • Client evaluations: regular feedback on our members from our clients to identify any areas of improvement.
  • Staff Appraisals: reviews and appraisals by Daynite Services Ltd with our members for professional development purposes.


  • Manual Handling
  • Basic life support/CPR
  • POVA training
  • Control and Restraint (for mental healthcare assistants).
  • Health & Safety (1974 & 1994)
  • Food Hygiene
  • Infection Control

The above courses are updated annually and valid for one year only. Candidates with verifiable certificates obtained elsewhere and dated within the last 12 months will be accepted.

Annual screening;

  • Enhanced CRBs are currently valid for one year only, and have to be renewed annually. The current price for an enhanced CRB is ¬£50.00.

Once the Induction Programme is completed, candidates are registered as members and work is offered subject to a satisfactory CRB, 2 references and Health Clearance.
